The next game update is scheduled for the end of March. This update will include the last of the UI updates for the gameplay area, including the coin flip, mulligan, and other in-match popups. We’re also implementing the first batch of UI changes based on the feedback provided by the community after the 2.17.239 game update, with additional changes taking place in later game updates.
In addition to the items above, we plan to roll out the Alpha version of Tournaments during the March game update. The initial testing phase will use the On Demand Tournament functionality. Unlike Scheduled tournaments, which have a fixed start time and allow a large number of players to compete, an On Demand tournament has an 8-player limit and is designed to start as soon as the player queue is full. A new tournament queue opens up immediately after the previous tournament begins, allowing players to join a tournament at any time! With your help, we hope to do extensive testing on the core functionality of Tournaments over the next few months.
Players will be granted a temporary allotment of 10 Tournament Tickets during this testing period, which must be redeemed to participate in a tournament. In addition to the standard prizes for On Demand tournaments, we plan to include Tournament Tickets in the prize pool throughout the Alpha testing phase to ensure that players have the opportunity to compete in as many events as possible.
Our long-term plan is to make a wide array of On Demand tournaments available for players at all times, with Scheduled tournaments, containing more players and bigger prizes, occurring on a regular basis. Check back next week for a screenshot of the new Tournament functionality, and keep an eye on the website for more information about Tournament Mode in the coming weeks!
As always, thanks for your continued support!
